Crafting the Classics Palette

Crafting the Classics Palette

Graeme Renard

"Colour isn't just pretty. Not for us, anyway. When you're designing kit for riders who'll spend hours grinding through whatever the road throws at them, every shade needs to earn its place."

We kicked off the Autumn/Spring 26 [classics] collection with one question: How do you respect cycling's brutal history while still pushing the boundaries? The answer became our mantra: "Old roads. New standards."

FOUNDATIONAL COLOURS

Meet Climbing Ivy and Performance Violet. These aren't your typical pastels picked for the 'gram. They're the colours of commitment.

"Climbing Ivy is that deep green you see on old stone bridges in Flanders," Graeme explains. "The kind that's weathered decades of racing pelotons but still stands strong. When you're four hours deep, you want colours that feel as solid as the roads beneath you."

Performance Violet (we called it Plum during development) hits different. It's the rich purple of those twilight training rides when the season turns serious. "There's something about that deeper violet that means class," Graeme says. "It's not the bright purple of summer fun. This is the color of putting in work when no one's watching."

MODERN EDGE

But we're not here to make museum pieces. That's where our acid accents come in. Sharp, electric hits that cut through the heritage base like a perfectly timed attack. "The classics haven't gotten easier." Graeme points out. "Today's riders have power data, weather intel, and aero advantages that would blow the minds of '80s legends. Our acid accents represent that tech edge. The moments where science meets suffering."

COLOURS THAT WORK

Every shade in Classics serves the unforgiving season. Shorter days. Rougher roads. This isn't about looking good in photos (though you will). It's about performing when conditions are not doing you any favours. "We picked colours that hide the inevitable wear of hard miles," Graeme notes. "The sweat, the grime, the countless wash cycles. These are working colours for working riders."

The bright accents aren't just style points either. They're strategically placed to catch light during those sketchy dawn commutes and dusk interval sessions. Function first, style second. Always.

A TIMELESS MARK

Our checkers have far more meaning than just a device. Those black and white squares mean everything for the athlete who is always trying to push their boundaries. A finish line. A goal achieved. Or maybe just another level of performance unlocked.

Colour in performance gear isn't decoration. It's communication. Every hue tells part of the story about what it means to chase excellence on two wheels. When you pull on a Classics jersey, you're not just wearing our latest drop. You're tapping into something deeper. The history of riders who've emptied themselves on roads.  The Autumn/Spring 26 [Classics] collection launches with that philosophy woven into every thread. Old roads, new standards.
